On Wednesday, July 22, 2020 BPS presented its draft reopening plan at School Committee. This article from The Boston Globe explains the plan in more detail.

The plan presented by BPS at School Committee is not yet final; school districts across the state have until Aug. 10th to submit their final, comprehensive reopening plans for this fall.

It's vitally important that BPS hears from as many families as possible before they finalize their plans. Here's how you can weigh in.

Upcoming Meetings: Public Input on School Reopening Plans

BPS is conducting virtual meetings to gather input to help develop a plan for remote learning and the reopening of school buildings for this upcoming school year. All meetings listed below are open to the public, but meetings available in select languages are only being offered on certain dates.

We strongly encourage all families to attend one of the meetings below to share your thoughts, concerns, and questions about the draft reopening plan from BPS.

What If You Can't Make One of These Meetings?

• According to BPS, all public meetings will be recorded and shared; we will share links to these recordings on our social media channels and at the Boston School Finder website. 
• You can email communityengagement@bostonpublicschools.org with your thoughts, questions, and concerns about BPS reopening. We encourage every family to send their thoughts in writing, whether you can attend one of these meetings in person or not.
• BPS is also conducting an online survey, available in 9 languages. The survey takes about 10 minutes to fill out and you can access it here. 

As the summer that wasn't comes to a close, we know families are left with more questions than answers right now about the upcoming school year.
