About the School

Boston Collegiate Charter School (BCCS) is a fifth-12th grade college preparatory public charter school. The school is the highest performing non-selective public option in Boston according to Advanced Placement scores and has been ranked by US News & World Report most academically rigorous charter high school in Boston. BCCS is focused on great teaching, adhering to the core believe that without great teachers, nothing else matters. A hallmark of the school is its diversity: students hail from every corner of Boston and the diversity of the school in terms of race, ethnicity, and socio-economic status reflects the diversity of our City. We strive to be a school that supports all students and where each student is deeply knownAll students take a Collegeiate Skills Class starting in 9th grade for two days per week in the first semester. In 10th grade students investigate their passions and learning about how one enters the professions in their fields of interest. During the 11th grade year students prepare for their capstone Experiential Learning project -- a two week, intensive internship in January of their junior year. In the winter and spring students also prepared for ACT and SAT exams, begin the college search and application process. We also offer a one week College Roadtrip for select students following the end of the school year in June. As a result of school trips starting in 5th grade, the average BCCS senior has visited at least 15 colleges before beginning the college application process. In addition, we offer individual chromebooks to each student in 11th and 12th grade. Students in grades 9 and 10 use laptop carts reserved through their teachers. All interested seniors travel to France in Spain as part of a senior trip in February of their 12th grade year. We offer a variety of Family Advisory and Support groups to support regular communication via phone, email and text.

School Performance

Student performance data displayed below is from Next Generation MCAS results. For more data on schools, please visit the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) website. For schools with multiple campuses, the data below represents all schools in that network, not just the single school, unless otherwise noted. If data is not shown, it is not available for that school (e.g. the school might not serve any tested grades, or be too small to publicly release its scores).

IMPORTANT NOTE: DESE did not issue school, district, or state accountability determinations for the 2019-2020 school year due to the cancellation of state assessments and school closures related to COVID-19. As a result, there is no student performance data available from the state for school year 2019-2020.
